USA: Barley harvesting progress
USDA's Weekly Crop Progress report released on August 16, states that corn crop conditions were rated 9 percent very poor, 14 percent poor, 26 percent fair, 38 percent good and 13 percent excellent for the week ended August 14, according to 16. That compares to 8, 14, 26, 39 and 13 percent last week and 2, 6, 19, 48 and 25 percent last year, respectively.
Barley was 49 percent harvested, compared to 23 percent last week, 25 percent last year and a 35 percent five-year average. Barley conditions were 1 percent very poor, 7 percent poor, 24 percent fair, 52 percent good and 16 percent excellent. That compares to 1, 6, 22, 55 and 16 percent last week, and 2, 5, 23, 53 and 17 percent last year.
